At year's end

Winter is such a cosy time year. It may be cold outside, but the fire is warm and full of wood and belly's are big and full of food.

Christmas this year was peaceful and relaxing. I wrapped all my gifts in recycled brown paper and decorated the house with pine cones and cinnamon sticks. When there are so many natural items to decorate with, it seems silly that we would buy plastic to fill our homes and landfills. I also LOVE Amazon's gift wrapping. They now gift wrap in these adorable, reusable fabric bags. They started doing this last year and I (obviously) kept them to reuse this year. Not only do they make wrapping gifts easier, they look super cute all bundled up under the tree. Another eco friendly win to end the year with.

After the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year I decided to clean the WHOLE house. Mad I know. I think that really I was just procrastinating from doing the mountain of school and extra curricular activities that I have to do. Even now, I don't feel ready to face it.

I am looking forward to the new year and I have made a few resolutions. But this year I fully intend to go easy on myself and allow for slip ups. As, you know what? We are all human and we are all enough.

Have a fantastic 2019!

It's been a while.

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season. It's all finished and over now. The rushing around the busy every ten seconds of the day. But, also the smiling faces the family hugs. I intend not to get down about it, but to think that we've got 11 months and it all starts again. We also have spring flowers and summer sun to look forward too. It seems like I don't have time to sit and do nothing. However, this weekend I did just that. I would normally but I have been tremendously ill. I had suffered since before Christmas with a nasty virus. I didn't seem to be getting better in fact I got worse. A trip to the doctors later... I had a chest infection, tonsillitis, sinus infection AND ear infection. Holy moly! It's now Monday and I am feeling better but suffering the repercussion of a weekend of doing nothing. Got a to do list that's longer than my arm and things don't stop to let me catch up they just keep tacking on the bottom. eeeeee!
It will be ok. I have a plan. I will stick to the plan. If I can't do it all...it's ok. It will be ok.
Anyway, on a much happier note, we had a wonderful holiday. The one and only complaint is, I cant believe it is over already. My lovely husband treated me to a trip to London for our 4th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a lovely hotel and met up with our good friends. We went to a show and just enjoyed each others company. Christmas was over so quick. It was just the four of us all cozy and cute. For new year we went to our friends house and had a lovely time. Can't wait for next year. ;)
I didn't make any new years resolutions. But..... I want to loose weight (said nearly every woman, everywhere, in January) I have come back to the point where I am not happy with the way I look. I don;t need to loose loads of weight and diet till I slip down a drain. I just need to eat what I will burn and burn what I eat. However, that is very easy to sit here in the warm all comfy at home than it is to actually get up and do. So here's the plan... I can't do it on my own. Whether or not anyone actually reads this or not... I will be blogging about it. Sorry, to bore you to death, and maybe I'll muster the courage to post pictures, make you sick. But, I need your help.  It's not going to be easy, I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day to get the things I need to do now done. But, I have to add in exercise somewhere. And I will.
Here's some snaps of December and I guess my before pictures as I gag when I see myself! Happy New Year!!!

Christmas Time.

Here I am blogging months after my last blog, just goes to show how busy Christmas time can be. Luckily, I am sitting here blogging with a fantastic homemade latte as my husband got me a wonderful machine for Christmas. A Nespresso. Oh it's so nice. Anyone who really likes coffee i suggest you buy one of theses machines. Great coffee minimal effort. We have had a great christmas this year. Hard not to get a bit sad though when your family is on the otherside of the world. But it's also amazing to carry on doing things you did as a child with your children.
We always try to keep some traditions going at Chistmastime. We always buy each other christmas PJ's and wrap them up to open on Christmas eve. We always make a wish while stirring the christmas cake. We always hide the pickle. Anyway hope you all had a lovely christmas. Here are a few snapshots from the holiday season in our family.

Happy Christmas and hope you all have a lovely New Year!
